Our annual reunion is back!

Every summer for the last three decades, Castle Craig has organised a reunion for our friends and alumni who are in recovery from alcohol or drug addiction.

It was with great sadness that this time last year we had to cancel the 2020 reunion due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But this year we’re prepared and adamant that the pandemic is not going to stop us all from meeting once again.

This year, we’re taking everything online! On Sunday 27th of June, we look forward to welcoming back old friends to share stories of strength, resilience, experience and most importantly hope.

As you might already know, here at Castle Craig we do things together. We know the best chance at long-lasting recovery starts and ends with peer and group support of like-minded individuals relating their similar experiences and feelings.

Celebrate your recovery with us online via Zoom!

This event is for Castle Craig alumni as well as long-standing friends and staff at Castle Craig.

  • Sunday 27th June 2021
  • 10:30 – 13.00 BST
  • This is a free event for former patients of Castle Craig and staff only, please claim a free ticket here.

We have been overwhelmed with the amount of interest and sign up for this event, with more than 180 individuals signing up to take part and reconnect.

The schedule

An exciting line-up is planned for Sunday morning.

The event will start at 10.30 am and will include:

  • Greeting and update from our interim CEO, Dominic McCann
  • Introduction from Professor Jonathan Chick, Medical Director, and a short discussion on mental health in pandemic
  • Guest recovery speaker
  • Short break featuring music from Frank and Guy
  • Shares from alumni of Castle Craig
  • A final goodbye from Senior Therapy Manager at 1pm

We look forward to seeing you again

We will keep the Zoom gallery in view, which is often seen currently with AA/NA meetings. However, as always, we respect your privacy and do not require you to switch on your camera. Also, please make sure your username does not feature your full name.

All attendees will be muted, but the chat function will be available to encourage you to communicate with friendly faces you may recognise and know.

Upon registering your interest via Eventbrite,  we will send over a Zoom link closer to the day.

We welcome you to share this link with any former patients who may wish to attend, see the image in this piece you can share to promote on social media if you wish.

Visit our social media on Facebook or Instagram for more details or contact Lucy Haden by email.

We cannot wait to see you!

Feedback from our 2021 Reunion

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the Castle Craig reunion last Sunday and to see & hear from so many attendees. It was a refreshing and uplifting experience. It has been a difficult period for all of us this past year & a half but our tools and skills learned in Castle Craig have been invaluable. And a big thank you again to all the staff who have put in so much effort to adapt to the ever changing circumstances.

Post-treatment support

Whilst this event has been organised to celebrate sobriety and recovery, we also understand that the unique nature of the past year has been difficult to cope with for everyone. As the pandemic has forced us all inside, for some it has also invited past haunts, triggers and difficult situations that are not conducive to healing.

So, we are also using this as an opportunity to reach out to those who might still be struggling and have slipped into old patterns. We’ve been through this before together, and we can do it again.

If you need help today, don’t be afraid to let us know.
