Women’s Unit

Fear, guilt, shame, abuse, domestic violence, are all issues that particularly affect women suffering from alcohol and drug dependency. The Serenity Unit at Castle Craig’s Extended Treatment facility is a nurturing, supportive environment, where women can share their feelings and experiences and openly draw strength from one another.

The Serenity Unit is led by compassionate female therapists who are trained to address drug and alcohol problems, dual diagnosis and other difficulties faced by women of all ages and backgrounds.

Patients live in an all-female house, receive women’s group therapy, benefit from dedicated female counsellors, enjoy all-female fitness sessions; while joining the rest of the community in the wider addiction treatment programme, including mealtimes.

Suitable for women who have been through a 4-6 week primary care programme for alcohol or drug addiction.
