Residential Treatment for Drug Addiction

Drug addiction is a complex, chronic brain disease whereby compulsive drug use changes the wiring of the brain and gradually leads to mental and physical deterioration. The sooner the problem is treated, the better the chances of a full recovery.

At Castle Craig residential rehab clinic, we have decades of experience in the field of addiction and we boast high rehab success rates. We successfully treat drug problems through a comprehensive rehab plan which includes consultant psychiatrist care, detox, medical treatment, individual psychotherapy and complementary therapies. Our abstinence-based residential rehabilitation programme is led by our Medical Director who supervises our expert team of consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses and therapists.

This is our treatment model for a lifelong recovery from drug addiction, and it is proven to work.

Drugs Detox Programme

At Castle Craig we have over 30 years’ experience in detoxification from drugs and alcohol and our experienced team of doctors and nurses ensure that detox is as safe and comfortable as possible. Because our treatment is residential and located on one site, patients can join in the daily routine of individual counselling and group therapy as soon as their physical condition permits.

Personalised Drug Rehab Plan

Detoxification alone is not enough, drug addiction is a brain disease and rehab programmes must treat the underlying psychological and behavioural side of the addiction to ensure the patient does not relapse.

Each patient at Castle Craig receives a personalised treatment plan from one of our consultant psychiatrists to tackle their addiction head on. This is shaped by a combination of detox, medical care, 12 Step facilitation, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, specialist therapies, complementary therapies, family therapy and aftercare arrangements. Regular exercise and a healthy diet, in a beautiful, countryside location allow the patient to mend their minds and bodies and leave treatment in peak condition.

We assign a personal focal therapist who works with patients throughout their stay, conducts one-on-one therapy sessions and shapes their aftercare plan alongside the Head Nurse and Consultant Psychiatrist.
