If you want access to our medical alcohol and drug detox treatment and addiction therapy programme as quickly as possible we recommend that you join treatment as a privately paying patient. This will mean that you fund treatment yourself. It means that we can arrange to bring you into treatment as quickly as possible – often within 24 hours. Sometimes the window of opportunity to get someone who is addicted to drugs or alcohol into treatment is very narrow, we understand this and our admissions team work their hardest to ensure a seamless and rapid admission.

Taking the First Step

Taking the courage to call and arrange an inpatient clinic admission is a big step and we want to be able to make the process as easy as possible for you. We have a team of experienced admissions staff who are able to talk to you about what problems you are facing and advise you on treatment options and funding methods.

How to come to Castle Craig rehab clinic as a private patient

  • Call our Admissions Department – they will ask some questions in order to build a picture about the addiction. They will also discuss and advise you on our different payment and funding options. If you have Private Health Insurance to cover residential addiction treatment we will be able to assist you in this process.
  • We can arrange your private admission within 24 hours if needed and providing we have the following information:
    • A letter from your GP with some relevant medical history. This ensures that admission is safe and suitable.
    • If, for a sensitive reason, you cannot involve your GP then please call us and we will see what other resources we can use. In all cases we require some form of medical information.

Before you arrive

We normally send a standard letter to your GP informing them of your request for treatment and our Consultant Psychiatrist or member of the clinical team may follow up by phone for relevant medical information and to ensure that patients will continue to be supported at the end of their rehabilitation programme.

We will conduct a pre-admission assessment to build a picture of the history of your alcohol or drug addiction and determine your the right treatment path for you. We can arrange this before we receive the letter from your GP, to ensure the fastest service possible.

Before you arrive for treatment we will email you an admission information pack with details of what to expect when you arrive here. If you need any further information our admissions staff will be more than happy to assist.
